The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan
5.0

Debated a long time over whether or not to give it 4 or 5 stars because I feel like I give out 5 star ratings very easily. But then, what's wrong with that?
With regards to the book... never thought I'd feel legitimately sad/sympathetic for the plight of a formerly immortal god with a god complex. Also never thought that said 4000+ year old deity-turned-mortal could display compelling and believable character development.
But here we are.
I feel like the tagline for this book and the one before it should be something like: "come for the characters you love, and stay for how surprisingly attached you'll get to the arcs of the characters you didn't think you would love quite so much" It's not catchy, but it's relatively accurate.

Oh, and the short story about Leo and Buford the table was <3
