It took me 3 years to finish this book but I am glad that I did.
This book is a really hard one for me to understand at first. It was too long, too many shifting characters but somehow I kept reading it because of the reviews & how people were affected by this book. So I read, read through the 'Happy Years' that slowly revealed everything and nothing was the same anymore.
I cried and there were times when I just want to hug the book because I just can't bear it. Jude is sometimes annoying but there are times when I felt genuinely sad and proud of him. This book, this book left me with a hole in my heart. This book wasn't easy for me. Too sad, too depressing, but sometimes there are sparks of genuine happiness although it won't last long. I am glad I finished this book, I am just glad that I did.
And yes, I hugged the book right after I finished it.
