A fun little novella written in the epistolary style (through letters) exploring Lady Susan and her ‘mischievous’ ways in the Vernon and De Courcy family. Also she bullies her daughter a lot.
It was a fun ride and my very first Austen novel and it is staggeringly impressive to know this was written by her at such a young age!! It very much still holds up and I recommend it (took a few hours just to get through) however the ending ultimately felt quite rushed and even stops using the letter style and I feel that more could have been done with the style as well (such as the seemingly foreshadowed idea that Lady Susan may write letters to Manwaring under the guise of writing to Mrs Johnson).
Ultimately, a recommend from me and I look forward to exploring more works of Austen.
