Whilst I greatly enjoyed the premise, writing and plot of The Wind Weaver, I found the romance lackluster and the characterisations leaving me wanting more.

The magic system was interesting but not explored in the depth it could have been. Hopefully the second book will explore it and the limitations and the darker, twisted magical, more.

The actual plot of the story was interesting but it definitely felt like a lot of setup for book two as there's a large chunk of this book where it feels like it goes from a lot happening, to nothing at all occurring.

Rhya was fine as a FMC but I found her willingness to be dictated to at odds with her established personality and it became extremely annoying. Though I did like her fear of her own powers, it added a weakness to her I appreciated.

Penn was an okay MMC but I found I wanted more from him than just seeing him being over protective of Rhya.

The romance was thoroughly uninspiring. I didn't buy into the chemistry at all between Rhya and Penn, and honestly preferred Soren, even for as little as we saw of him.

An enjoyable read for what it is, but several areas where it could have been improved.
