Now You See Me by Sharon Bolton
5.0
I was half expecting to be let down by this book, I’ve tried multiple Detective series and I’ve only ever loved one and that’s The Robert Hunter series by Chris Carter. Others have been okay but never lived up to Carter, I also usually find myself being really disappointed in female lead detectives, in my opinion they’re rarely written well.
Well... Now You See Me by Sharon Bolton changed ALL of that, I’m already SO invested in this series I want buy all of her other books and read them all now because her writing was superb and that storyline... those twists... I’m not lying when I say she keeps you guessing until the VERY END. The suspense was killing me, it was just an epic story and I LOVE Lacey Flint as well as Joesbury. Oh and the fact there was a lot of Jack the Ripper references in there too was just the cherry on the top!
100% would recommend to any crime lovers out there just be warned that it is a very descriptive book when it comes to the crime scenes as well as there being a lot of mention throughout the book of sexual assault.
If you can stomach that then go pick up this amazing book!
