A Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon

4.0

I really enjoyed this story at the beginning but then it dragged on just a bit through the middle, but picked up at the end again. I loved the way it was written. There were three main voices, Mary Queen of Scotts, Bess, and George Talbot. The author would switch between the three as the story was told. It was an interesting way to get different perspectives on the same events. The time in history fascinates me so I enjoyed reading about Queen Elizabeth and her constant worries over losing her throne. Mary Queen of Scotts (her cousin) threatened her throne and was eventually executed. If you like reading historical fictions then this is a good choice.
