Verity by Colleen Hoover

adventurous challenging dark mysterious sad tense fast-paced

5.0

A book has never enticed me nor made me think this as much as this one has.

After finishing this, my thoughts are scattered. The plot, the characterization, the setting, everything was phenomenally written. The storyline had me immediately attracted, and I do think this book can improve on anything.

I believe the letter at the end written to Jeremy by Verity was a cover up for the manuscript that way two pieces of evidence would contradict one another just in case she got out of the house and Jeremy attempted to get her arrested. She is a manipulative character, but Colleen wrote her incoherently smart.

Lowen, as equally crazy as Verity. The way she quickly obsessed with Jeremy and naturally adjusted to his life and dealt with everything wad off putting. She was also okay with Jeremy potentially impregnating her after knowing him only for a few weeks. The manuscript helped Lowen create this picture perfect vision of Jeremy- a reason for her liking to him.

Jeremy, a hell of a character. You empathize with him and are given no reason to hate him, yet you don’t fully trust him throughout the read. My overall opinion on him is unclear as all of his actions were with intent of the children yet so eerie. In addition, Lowen and Jeremys relationship was odd as well. Their immediate “love” confused me and they just fell into a life. Overall, this was an amazing book even tho it did make my head spin.
