Wow. It kinda pains me to give this book 3 stars. I love Michael Crichton but this book fell way, way short of expectations. I’m not sure I can pinpoint 100% the problem with this book. Somewhere between problems with pacing and the structure of the book. We know Crichton can write, and it’s not that it was a poorly written book. We know he knows his science so that was not what necessarily turned this science nerd off, but for being a Crichton book I’d have to say I put this book down way too many times and had to muscle through to finish it.
