The Trunk by Kim Ryeo-ryeong
This was… unexpected.
While I didn’t dislike anything that I read in particular, and in fact actually found it to be an insightful social commentary (if a little heavy handed at times), it just failed to deliver on it’s promises.
The premise and first half of the novel were intriguing, and had what the capacity to be an enjoyable set up to the thrilling twists anticipated.
But there was just no follow through?
There were plenty of subplots that one would expect to be tied up in the end in some dramatic finale, but there was nowhere near enough tension to make that possible.
So I think we were all left unsatisfied and with unanswered questions, unfortunately.
