Elise and her boyfriend Patrick are living in Chicago (she moved there 4 years ago to be with him). She thinks their relationship is good, but she’s not happy with her current job. Her boyfriend is away on a business trip and she meets this new woman at work who says she knows her. This woman says that she has been dating one of Patrick’s friends and she is apart of this group chat (which Elise isn’t), and the woman shows the messages to Elise which basically shows that Patrick (as well as his friends) have been using a gif video of Elise as a joke (calling her jiggle tits). So with that information, she decides to enlist help from her protective brother Elliot( and his friend Weston), and she basically moves and ghosts Patrick at the same time while he’s still gone on his trip (seriously that is epic 😂). 

She moves back to Denver Colorado and gets a place to stay (which Weston owns the building) and Elise is staying with her friend. Elise also gets a job at Weston’s company called Andes as a copyright. 

Weston sees Elise after four years and he is still attracted to her, so he starts to send her pink flowers (because pink is her favorite color), and he leaves her post-it notes on her desk with facts about elephants (because he remembered that she loved elephants when she was younger). They continue to send emails and post it notes back and forth with each other. 

Elise loves to hike and one day she goes by herself and runs into a mountain lion, luckily Weston shows up and helps her back to her SUV, their emotions are on high so they end up making out in the back of her SUV, and they almost have sex when they hear other people and stop. 

So when they get back into work mode again he calls her into his office and says they have to be professional and not do that again, then when she’s about to leave he makes out with her again 😂, and gets her to orgasm. Then they go on a work trip and he can’t control himself and they proceed to bang it out on every surface to get her out of his system 😂. 

He then says that they only have this trip to be together and once they get back they can’t be together. So when they get home he immediately changes his mind and they are still kissing and touching, his friend Luca sees them. 

Then her brother finds out. 

Then they go from being in a relationship and he ignores her at a party (for work), and she forgives him, then something is going on with his job again and he ignores her again (and that’s where she decides to end it. 

So then he has to grovel in order for her to take him back, then she does and HFN, and the end.

This is the first book by Julia Wolf I actively disliked, it reminded me too much of the Stopover and TL Swan’s writing. I’m hoping this is a one off and it’s not the whole series 🙄. Also the heroine irritated me at times, I wish they communicated more.
