This isn't my favorite by Tara but it wasn't horrible by any means. While I found some of the plot unique and complicated I also felt that there wasnt enough focus on those parts and too much on unoriginal parts. That being said, I really did love it!
The prologue was great! It gave us a small glimpse of what is to come...
A family dealing with a tragedy and all in different ways. When Aimee James decides to step out of her comfort zone and join twin sister Alise at a party things take a drastic turn. When Aimee is unknowingly poisoned (ok, I know who ever KNOWS right?) she alsmost loses her life, only a man only she can see saves her. Once she is okay she has to face truths about her mothers death and possibly her own. Decisions have to be made and she has no clue really how to begin to handle them.
The bulk of the book was a bit slow paced but knowing this is a series I believe there may be reason for that. Overall I really enjoyed the book but wanted a little more action. The romance side really had me frustrated as I felt Shane was seriously screwed over. I am excited to read the next book, Bane, because the set-up is done and now things should get interesting...
