Oh so quiet, character focused, told in vignettes, strong sense of place, gentle, melancholic, not much “happens” - if these descriptions call to you, then I imagine The Summer Book will be just your cup of tea. I read it in the woods by the lake in August and it felt like one of those just right reading memories.
