The Promise of Miss Spencer by Sarah L. McConkie

5.0

There are so many things that I loved about this book. I love a book with multiple points of view and this book really delivers. You read the story from 3 points of view and it is so excellent.

This is my first book of Sarah McConkie and I am so excited to read more. I loved the history detailing in the story. I was taken in by the smallpox pandemic and the early form of vaccinations. I love when an author can allow the reader to really be inside of the story. I was worried at first that I would be dealing with a love triangle with the 3 points of view, and felt like it took me a few chapters to really get into the story (I am not a fan of love triangles and my brain really tries to shut them out) but with the creative writing skills of Sarah I loved being inside each character's head and watching the story evolve. After I made it a few chapters in, I didn’t put it down until I was finished. I was moved by the emotions of each character and felt like I really knew them. I was sad when the story ended because I wanted it to keep going!

This was a fantastic find on Amazon for me and I’m happy to be adding Sarah to my list of favorite authors!
