Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson

I read compulsively. I’ve finished nearly 100 books this year. Of all of those books (many of which were truly excellent), this may be my favorite.
The exposition for world building is incredibly seamless - it doesn’t slow the plot down, but it also gives you sufficient context. The dialogue (internal and external) is wonderfully written. The pacing of the plot is truly superb. I will absolutely be recommending this book to all of my friends. And my mom. And my partner. And my kids. Hell, dogs too, idgaf.
