now, this is where i got pissed off. not only do i find the confrontation stupid but in absolutely what world would someone go sit down with the homophobe who abused his friend?? it makes no sense. and while i appreciate the conversation that was had as it uses talking points that come up when talking about queerness and how it calls out the stupidity and obvious homophobia behind those claims i hated how trauma was brought up and laughed at. sure, that doesn’t give that ugly mf an excuse to put his hands on somebody for likin boys but to laugh dead in the face of someone who just admitted they were raped is so fucked up, mind u that’s supposed to be her “friend” like cmon now, whole situation blew me. and that wasn’t even it. for WHATEVER reason we see Mamis downfall in this volume (imo). sure, her story makes sense into why queerness would be an escape from what she’s experienced on the account of her gender but we just saw someone get jumped and someone run away and break down in tears at the thought of being looked at in disgust for her sexual preference from the one she loves like girl i’m
not shedding a tear for u bcs u arent a lesbian. like ur my sister and i love u but no i’m sorry i don’t feel bad for u for THAT reason, i can ofc empathize with her struggles but to do all that bcs u don’t like girls is too damn much. The way Taichi feels is articulated beautifully though as he angrily denounced the thought of being homosexual in public but thinks about his attraction to Touma in private, the way those looks he snuck throughout the series adds up to this moment is brilliant writing!! and i was crying all the way through, TAICHI U ARE LOVED
