The Line of Duty by Nichole Severn

5.0

The Line of Duty is the sixth and final book in the Blackhawk Security Series. It is a romantic thriller.

Synopsis:
Blackhawk Security forensics expert Vincent Kalani left New York City a year ago, but a new lead has him going back there to solve an old case. Onboard the passenger plane that would take him there, he's surprised to see Shea Ramsey, an Anchorage PD officer. Someone who often helps investigate Blackhawk Security cases with him.

When the plane crashes in the Alaska mountains, followed soon by armed men after their lives, it becomes a fight for survival for these two amidst the snow-capped mountains. Do they become partners for life, while struggling to survive together?

Review:
I was eagerly waiting for Vincent Kalani's book, because of his tresses. Yep, that was the primary reason, the secondary being his profession. I have been fascinated with forensics experts since I started watching police procedurals religiously.

Shea is on her way to retrieve her son, Wells, but she's not telling him something. She didn't exactly trust Blackhawk and the methods of investigation they use. She often thinks of Blackhawk personnel as a set of vigilantes who do anything they please, even if it's by breaking the law. Shea eventually gets around to understanding their viewpoint, though, especially when she finds herself in grave danger alongside Vincent.

The Line of Duty is action-packed romantic suspense. There are two enemies here, the squadron of corrupt cops and the biting cold. This is the most dangerous of all the books in the series. Or is it me who feels like that? It's like with every Blackhawk book, the level of crazy danger keeps on increasing!

There is hand-to-hand combat, gunfights, and the part I love the most when the entire team intervenes. [a:Nichole Severn|5763145|Nichole Severn|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1544285676p2/5763145.jpg] always balances out the stories in such a way that it remains the protagonists' story while also capturing the team spirit. I almost cried when the entire team came together for Shea and Vincent!

A thrilling ride till the very end, I am going to miss the series now. But, I look forward to re-reading it back-to-back soon.

Thank you to the author for an e-ARC of the book.
