If you read the description, you already know what you're in for with Rent Boys: a steamy M/M romance that makes short work of stereotypes and taboos. Being a novella, the story jumps right into the romantic action and keeps a brisk pace throughout. The romance between the two main characters was hot and sweet at the same time, and the writing style was smooth without any awkward phrases. What I felt needed some more work was the overall flow of the story; it felt like we were more often told what the characters think and feel, rather than experiencing it through their actions. A few side stories also seemed to wrap up too soon and left an unresolved feeling.
Overall a short, steamy novella for a lonely evening or two at home.
