I don’t know whether it’s the writing, the fact that up until now this has all been covered by Netflix, or what, but I feel like the books get worse? I can’t stand how he writes Ciris character

basically a brat who is easily distracted by food but than can fight better than a solider without thinking??

or how he jumps into flashbacks. I feel like a lot happened that wasn’t really explained either.

Especially with the mage conclave, a lot happened in a short amount of time that was sort of confusing. Maybe because I don’t recall every single king or mages name, or I just don’t care enough, but it felt like that all happened too fast with little discussion.

maybe it’s because we’re from Gerald’s perspective, but we had many chapters from Yennefer so it’s sort of annoying or convenient that we didn’t know it was coming. Overall meh installment, I will keep reading but in no real rush.
