Poets Square: A Memoir in Thirty Cats
by Courtney Gustafson
emotional
funny
hopeful
inspiring
reflective
sad
medium-paced
Poets Square is a book about cat rescue, finding yourself and depression. It's a hard, honest read about rescue, about finding community, fitting in and being a young adult in today's world. It's funny, it's honest, it's sad. Courtney is self-reflective and tells the story of people through the lens of cats. I cried at least three times. As a person in rescue myself, I saw a lot of myself in this book.
Minor: Animal cruelty, Animal death, Emotional abuse
This is a book about cat rescue. There is a chapter called "not all the cats survive in this one".
