The Three Questions by Jon J. Muth
4.0

A lovely retelling of a Tolstoy short story for children--yes, it works better than it sounds! The book is a simple fable with a lovely message; Tolstoy's Tsar who finds the answers to philosophical questions by saving his enemy is turned into a boy looking for answers from his animal friends. The beautiful watercolor illustrations give the book a wonderfully thoughtful, calm feeling.
