Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

4.0

4 stars

What a magical world that Hamilton created. I loved the diversity of the environment she produced, the mix of old world magic and the grit of the more modern world. She wove mythological legends and lore into a world that held me tight and had me glued to the pages. I adored Amani because she struggled with the world she lived in and where she belonged in it. That made me connect with her. Then there is Jin, dashing and just wild. I fell for him just as hard as I did for the world I was lost in.

The adventure was alluring, the action brilliant and non-stop, and the romance (I loved that it wasn't the main focus but a lovely aspect that I couldn't get enough of) was beautifully woven into this fantasy tale. All in all, Rebel of the Sands was an engaging and thrilling read. I can't wait for the next installment.
