I like the split personality with Phe and her “monster.” Dissociative identity disorder is a mental disorder that can be associated with childhood sexual abuse which Ophelia did experience. I’m more curious about how did the mental faculty not know about it.

She clearly wasn’t ready to leave yet either. She still didn’t understand that she was abused by her parents and the church and they still let her leave. It seemed like she made no progress in there. She still carried the Bible and thought about sins and repenting. Maybe if they thought being outside would help her then they should have required weekly therapy sessions, so she could better integrate into society.

There was also a lot of typos in the book which is really saying something when I noticed because I usually never do.
