The Party by Elizabeth Day

1.5

The characters and chapters are all pretty unoriginal and quite cliche. I mean, look at how "Notebook of Lucy Gilmour" started. And look at Martin: the impeccably-dressed gay man with a serious lack of backbone or personality. It's exactly how a cis, white, privileged, straightâ„¢ British woman would imagine a gay man to act like. (lmao look up the author)
Started reading faster just so I could get somewhere. Couldn't even make it halfway through before giving up.
A plus: pulling on the reader's heart strings with useless animal cruelty/death <3
