This book was extremely readable and I did enjoy it for the most part. It was a lot harder to read than I expected though. My fault for not reading any of the TW. I still would've prob read it, but at least I would've been prepared.

As someone who had a family member pass away from ALS where I had to watch everything unfold within my family, I don't think I've cried this much over a book in a long time. I also have a family member with dementia and struggles w hoarding...this book was really just coming for me.

I..still don't get why she didn't get her symptoms checked. I wasn't a fan of how in the end, it was just "oops not ALS bc the FL was too stubborn to verify so all that angst was low-key for nothing". Idk what I'd do as the author, but it felt weird, to have all that build up around ALS w it being the main driving point of the plot, only for it to go away so easily. I saw another comment that said it was a slap in the face to those who suffer from ALS and their loved ones. I think I agree bc I low-key felt betrayed/put off by the magic cure ending- implying that only ppl without the disease can be happy. Idk it felt weird and super sudden.
