I was gifted this book and have been on a really lucky streak recently with some fantastic books, however I just could not get on with the writing style of this book. I managed to get about 4 chapters in before I just had to give up - I really disliked it. I don’t understand why she decided to wrote the dialogue in the style she did. As quite an imaginative and visual reader, I found it just fell flat and I couldn’t get in to the story, the characters or the surroundings.

Not my cup of tea at all. I never normally DNF a book but this was one I just couldn’t contemplate trudging through.
