Cut by Patricia McCormick

Rating: 3.5

SYNOPSIS:
Callie is a runner. One day she finds herself running to her house in the middle of a marathon and straight to her kitchen where she pulls out a kitchen knife and cuts herself. Now Callie is in Sea Pines, a treatment facility where she refuses to talk, to everyone including her own family. But Callie can only stay silent for so long....

REVIEW:
At first the book had me wondering what could have possibly happened to make Callie the way she is, a cutter who refuses to talk. As the story progresses, the problems start to come out one by one and you realize all the pressure and issues she had going on. When I was reading the author sucked me in so much that when someone would talk to me I felt like I couldn't talk, until my brain finally realizes that I'm not reading anymore. I knocked off a few stars because as the book came closer to being over it still didn't seem like it was going anywhere. I was kinda disappointed about the ending.

AGE RATING AND RECOMMENDED TO:
Since this book talks about certain conditions, I would probably recommend it to those 13 and over. Recommended to those that enjoy psychological novels
