The Silent Stars Go By by Dan Abnett

4.0

This was a fun new adventure! The Morphans' Earth origins highlights some interesting aspects of our culture and how things can be misinterpreted after so many generations of passing on the information. It's also frustrating because the Morphans can be so close-minded! But it makes the scenes where the Doctor can make a difference in the Morphans' lives that much more meaningful.

The banter between the Doctor, Amy and Rory was great but sometimes it killed the pace of the action-y parts in the story for me. It seemed like the characters should have focused more on the danger at hand sometimes. But I did like a few humorous moments and it didn't kill my enjoyment of the story.

The story has quite a few surprises and it did a pretty good job capturing the voices of the Doctor and his companions (there were a few times when it did feel a little off though). It also features an old TV show villain and I love when the books tie into the canon of the show. This was a very entertaining story that kept me interested throughout and I recommend it to the Who fans!
