This volume covers a few of my favourite arcs but most notably being Tohru encountering
Kyo's true form and fighting against her feelings about it because she loves him
- it really highlights Tohru's strength as a character and her unending compassion. It also meets Kyo where he needs to be met in order to accept that love.

Kyo's relationship with his mentor really shines this volume also. The found family dynamic the two have while being too surrounded in their own guilt to name it as such... its amazing. I always love how Fruits Basket shines best when showing in depth the bonds between two people, even if those bonds are toxic.
