Daimon by Jennifer L. Armentrout

4.0

As far as Novellas go, Daimon wasn't too bad. It struck me as something that was either written originally for the book and then was cut and added to later for the novella, or was written after the series as the prequel. Either way, it was good. In it we learn a tad bit about Alex's life that she had in the mortal world, and what exactly happened when the Daimons attacked her mom. Of course, we already know what happened, but this is obviously a more detailed account.

I don't think it's necessary to read the prequel, it doesn't give that much more information so if you're a slow reader it probably won't be worth your time but if you can zip through it in under an hour like I did, then hey why not? oh, and it's free!
