Okay, you know what? This wasn't that bad. It's an interesting setting with interesting characters. Could've gone through another round or two of editing, but beyond that... not bad. I found the aliens to be quite interesting, as well as the ice planet. I don't think I'll be reading the other books in the series, though. I like a somewhat deeper setting and characters.
