Faithless in Death by J.D. Robb
5.0

I enjoy this series set in a futuristic version of New York City and am amazed how J.D. Robb is able to keep the plots fresh, even though the series has been going on for quite a while. I really enjoyed this one because the whole team works together to solve the case, not just Eve and Roarke. I have to admit that Peabody is actually my favorite character and she does get to show her skills questioning suspects, in addition to her usual booking conference rooms and fetching sodas and snacks for everyone. My dream is that someday there will be at least a novella with Peabody as the main character. Dallas is great, and I love seeing how much the character has grown since the beginning of the series. However, I can relate more to Peabody.

The cult storyline in "Faithless in Death" is suitably creepy without a lot of graphic violence. Unfortunately, some aspects of the cult life sounded like accounts of cults that actually exist. I'm more a reader of mysteries than romances, so I like the police procedural aspect of the books. However, romance fans won't be disappointed by the steamy scenes with Eve and Roarke. I enjoy becoming immersed in the world JD Robb has created in this series. I enjoyed this book and hope the next one is just as entertaining.  would rate this book 4.5 stars.
