i have some really mixed feelings about this book!! there's a lot to dissect. the prose is really well done and im very fond of the ending. there's obviously problematic elements (given the time era in which it was written), but i feel like it does what it sets out to do very well. dorian is a very interesting character to watch descend into madness and i think oscar wilde really captured his ignorance and horribleness really well, which essentially leads to the whole love-to-hate-him thing. overall its extremely well written. my only qualm was that it felt a bit long-winded at times and it took me a hot minute to pick it up again (don't know exactly when i started it originally), which is interesting, given how short the book is. HOWEVER, that could just be a me and classics thing! overall i really enjoyed it!!
