god damn these bitches need therapy. did they need to be in high school? did they NEED to be 16? can we age them up because this whole “love til the end of time” shit feels a little too melodramatic for high schoolers.
i liked this a lot better than Binding/Keeping 13 but jesus mf christ these books are SO MUCH. i like the characters and i like the plot and i like the relationship between Claire and Gerard but omg WHY are they acting like this relationship and their feelings are the end all be all of their lives. you’re 16!!!!!!!!!!!
another gripe i have is the trauma dump. i thought gerard’s whole trauma would be his father and sister dying when he was saved (which should have been explored sooooooo much more in my opinion because it was BARELY MENTIONED in the second half) but that took a back seat to Mark and the csa. I think those topics are so important to learn about and it’s so necessary to hear survivors stories, but it felt almost shallow to me in this book? Like it was just thrown in for a “shock” twist to gerard’s story?
These books are good ideas but so far none of them have impressed me. Can someone let me know what I’m missing about the legendary Boys of Tommen series that so many people claim will change my life?
