I went into this book expecting a light and breezy sports romance (the only type of contemporaries that I read). This is NOT that.
This book is dark and deals with some incredibly heavy themes (namely on the page domestic abuse). I definitely had to persevere around the 15% mark (I read on kindle) as something happened which usually is an immediate DNF for me. What kept me reading however, was just how wonderful the hero is, and how incredibly beautiful Ryan's writing is.
I would recommend this book, but I think you need to go into it knowing what to expect - thank you to the wonderful people on twitter for the CW'ings.
