Did not finish book. Stopped at 17%.
I definitely want to cancel my book of the month subscription because lately, the books that sound good turn out to be not my cup of tea. I end up spending quite a bit on these books only to have to DNF them later. It's a trade-off I'm unwilling to continue.
I decided to abandon this book because the writing style was really weird. It's sort of like a stream of consciousness when the narrator is describing things. And then it abruptly switches back to the plot, which sounds interesting, but is executed poorly in my opinion. There is hardly any dialogue thus far- it's just the narrator recounting what's happening in a impersonal manner that makes me care little for what's happening.
