The Silent Wife
by Karin Slaughter
3.75 for me, but I just can’t round it up any more. The thriller and crime portion of the book were engaging, but I wasn’t surprised by the who of it. Faith was great as usual. It was great to go back to Jeffrey Tolliver and Grant County. I’m disappointed that Will and Sara are still together by the end of the book because I just don’t like them as a couple. I like them individually—him much more than her. She has always been on the line of a Mary Sue that I just don’t enjoy her the longer she is in the books. I also feel like Slaughter wants us to like her so much that I just don’t and I end up feeling about her the same way Lena does. Pairing her and keeping her with Will, and making as she’s the only person capable of loving him, has just taken that to the next level. Every time Sara uttered “my love” I vomited just a little.
