I saw that a local bookclub was reading this and decided to give it a try in order to attend the meeting to make some local friends, but hot dang did I not enjoy this book. I used to enjoy realistic fiction as a child, but it clearly is not my thing anymore.
In my opinion, the plot of this story was flat and I didn’t feel like it really had any stakes. I found the characters to be extremely static and unoriginal. Throughout the entire book they all just blended together. Truthfully, I wouldn’t be able to differentiate which “events” happened to which characters.
The concept was cute and I liked the origin of the club and their rituals that the girls partook in. Overall, it was a cute read, but I wouldn’t recommend it
