Orphans by Ben Tanzer

2.0

Switchgrass Books needs to hire some better editors. Typos are everywhere (almost one a page), which is extremely distracting while reading. But I can't blame Tanzer for the laziness of his editor.

The book itself is another cisgendered man is confused about his life and feel society is threatening his masculinity because he's a cisgendered man. I see why people don't like these sorts of stories. We follow Norrin as he questions what it means to be a man, and what role he has to play, and how he has to provide for his family, but oh no that means he has to spend so much time away from them, and of course his wife is mad about his working condition but she was mad when he was unemployed and now he feels he can't perform well in the bedroom because of all of these man problems he's having.

It's disappointing that the future Tanzer predicts is basically the 1950s with super-easy space travel. I had much higher hopes.
