Queen Song by Victoria Aveyard

fast-paced

4.0

I devoured 'Queen Song' by Victoria Aveyard, and while it didn't quite live up to my sky-high expectations, it was still a captivating read. The story is a slow-burning, introspective exploration of Coriane's tragic tale, offering a fresh perspective on the Red Queen world. Aveyard's writing is as lush and evocative as ever, making it easy to become fully immersed in the world of Norta.

The characters are complex and multi-dimensional, with Coriane being a particularly compelling protagonist. Her struggles and emotions felt deeply relatable, making her ultimate fate all the more heart-wrenching.

If I have any criticisms, it's that the pacing felt a bit uneven at times, and some plot points seemed slightly convenient. However, these minor quibbles didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the story.

Overall, 'Queen Song' is a haunting and atmospheric addition to the Red Queen series, and fans of Victoria Aveyard's work won't want to miss it.
