Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

I’m glad I finally read this book, but the prose of English translation was jarring and made reading it difficult. In any case, I could not really get into the book; the imagery was at times serene but interrupted by strange turns of phrase. I suppose it was interesting at some points, just not that life altering. Perhaps my attitude towards this classic just shows my age. Seeking enlightenment via many paths - this about sums the book up to me. Not bad, but not great either.
