Guanzon’s story between Alaric and Talasyn definitely had its highs and lows. While I ultimately had a good time with the two, and called the ‘secret princess’ reveal from a mile away , part of the fun I had with this story was that I’ve read enough fantasy/romance to know where this path lead.
While I understand the war time chapters were to give context to the relationship, I wish they were done more akin to a flashback rather than leaps forward in time. It felt like only once we arrived at the “4 months later mark” that the story actually began.
If you enjoy the Romantasy genre, this series is definitely for you! The enemies to lovers arc is strong with these two 😂
