I decided to quit while I was ahead...From the 61% mark onward, I skipped to the steamy scenes and called it a day.
This was not terrible by any means. Hell, I enjoyed a lot of parts of it (especially in the beginning), but ultimately I found myself being annoyed by the main character. Tyler’s back and forth had me rolling my eyes. I didn’t need over 300 pages of Tyler being angsty because he refuses to accept he should just leave the church to be with Poppy.
Also. The characters in general were so flat I just couldn’t do it anymore. The only genuine personally traits Tyler and Poppy had were being horny, and that just didn’t cut it for me. I needed more from both them and the plot. Everything was just repetitive and uninteresting.
In conclusion: the steamy scenes? Definitely quality. Everything else? Not so much.
