don't let the size of this book fool you. it's a completely self-contained, captivating thing with a small cast of characters - our hero, piranesi; his friend, the other; a small scattering of more, to guide the way; and of course, the house. piranesi is a sort of anti-horror. it says, there is a secret at the heart of the world, yes, and that secret is not horrible but that there is good in this world and all you have to do to find it is to look for it.
