Magic for Liars by Sarah Gailey

5.0

This book was an amazing mix of murder/mystery and fantasy/magic. Mixing realism with fiction allowed me to feel like I was actually there, witnessing all of the events alongside Ivy Gamble. The plot is spectacular, and the ending was shocking. While I was surprised by the ending (in which the mystery was solved), I was expecting something a bit more grand.
This is the second book I've read by Sarah Gaily, after reading Upward Women Wanted (which I felt had a somewhat cut-off plot, but I highly enjoyed the writing of), and I plan to read her newest book, "When We Were Magic", in the near future. Gailey's writing style packs each sentence with such full detail that I felt like I was watching a show, and I could vividly imagine each scene. I would recommend this book for anyone 18+, since it does touch on some more mature topics.
