The Poisonwood Bible
by Barbara Kingsolver
challenging
dark
emotional
informative
sad
slow-paced
This book was slow to start, but around page 200 I got sucked into each character’s narrative.
The writing is superb. There are passages I committed to memory because of the depth and eloquence in which they were written.
There are the characters and the plot and then there is the bigger message of narrow mindedness, racism, condescension, and arrogance being the downfall; that message really hits hard if you let it.
