I wonder what I would have thought about this book if I had not read it post-pandemic. I think it’s a more fascinating read after experiencing a pandemic. I’m definitely grateful that COVID was nowhere near as devastating as the virus in this book. I couldn’t put down the book. It was crazy seeing similarities between what happened in the book to what happened in real life. I’ve fantasized about a world without men, and this book showed me the positives and negatives of such a world. This was the best apocalyptic book because it beautifully blended tragedy and hope.
