This book felt a bit like a really long short story. The writing was great, dark and unflinching. Eileen is vile, depressing, obssesive, selfish and yet vulnerable in her extreme nativity. She's a MC you love to hate, yet root for.
But in the end there wasn't enough meat to the story. There were basically no subplots, it was very linear. There were a few points hinted at but never developed. I would have loved to get more on Rebbeca, her psyche and backstory.
The final twist was great at first, but tittered a bit at the end.
