The plot consists of multiple lighthearted sidequest-like romps around the continent, sightseeing and raising havoc. The overarching bigger plot is just Cherry asking herself if she dares to trust and fall in love with Dante, the dragon who saves her from another dragon's imprisonment (
while being drugged by Cherry
). On Dante's side, he immediately falls head over heels for Cherry, his mate according to him, and tries his best to get her on the same page.

The book isn't very deep – it's in the name of this and the previous Mead Mishaps books: "That time I got drunk and..." This reads just like a drunken choose-your-own adventure story, where the main characters realise their every whim, get in trouble, get drunk(er), get frisky, and get a lot of other things amon them also
a happy ending
. Anything very deep and serious is too much for the scatterbrained drunk brains having this adventure.

The MCs from the previous books have small side parts as Dante's distance wooing advisors theough a magiced mirror, but that's pretty much the extent to we get to see them. Maybe there's more to come, though, since there were multiple hinta in this book towards possible plotpoints for a sequel.

I've consumed the previous books in this series in audio format, and this one as a paperback. I must say that I might have liked the lightheartedness of this series better in audio. But I also liked the previous books with somewhat grander stakes more, so there's also that.
