Now that the series is complete, I am emotional. What a read series and final book. Cal was special, his demon made him authentic. The way he loved the people around him and the way he handled their problems was inspiring. Alana was also inspiring. Raising her niece as her own daughter, while struggling to keep them both happy and healthy.
Mixing bits of their past while following their present helped us understand the love they shared. Cal’s interactions with his father shed more light on the man himself and what he put his children through.
Watching Cal struggle with social anxiety and alcohol addiction was hard. A few times I wanted to reach my hands into the pages and shake him, hard. But then you remember his love for his brothers, even Declan, and his love for Alana and Cami and he redeems himself, again and again.
