This book was just so poetically written and devastatingly thrilling. I enjoyed learning a new information about WWII that I had not known before and the characters who represented the possible experience. I did however want the story to keep going before the ending wrapped up Emilia's end. Just a little more information: how did they get to America? How did their love blossom? Their life with the kids? I wanted to know more. But the ending as it was, was beautiful and heart wrenching.
